'Baba ka Dhaba' owner files a case against Gaurav Wasan for misappropriation of funds

New Delhi: The eatery 'Baba Ka Dhaba,' which got popular overnight after a video of the owners went viral on social media, has got much love and support from the people. In a dramatic turn of events, Kanta Prasad, the owner of Baba Ka Dhaba has filed a complaint against Instagram influencer Gaurav Wasan for misappropriation of funds.

Wasan shared the video of Prasad and his wife breaking down while talking about their hardships and struggles during the COVID-19 times on his social media accounts.

Prasad, in his complaint to police, said that Wasan shot the video and posted it on his social media accounts and convinced the public to donate money to the eatery owner. However, Prasad alleged that Wasan "intentionally and deliberately shared only his and his family/friends bank details and mobile numbers with the donors and collected a huge amount of donation through different mode of payments i.e bank account/wallets without providing any information to the complainant."

80-year-old Prasad also accused that Wasan did not provide any details of the financial transactions to him.

Atul Kumar Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) said, "We received the complaint yesterday at the Malviya Nagar Police Station and the matter is being probed. No FIR has been registered yet in the case."
