BJP fields controversial candidate Tajinder Singh Bagga known for trolling and violence

NEW DELHI: Tajinder Singh Bagga has been named as the BJP candidate in the upcoming Delhi elections. He will stand from Hari Nagar, a West Delhi constituency.

He tweeted, " Hari Nagar Vidhansabha will be the first Vidhansabha in Delhi which will release their own Manifesto. We will Install Smog Tower in Hari Nagar Vidhanasabha in First 60 days of My Victory."

He is known for being an active Twitter troll. Bagga had asked for boycotting movie Chhapaak after Deepika Padukone was seen with students at the JNU campus.

In October 2011, he slapped lawyer-activist and the then AAP leader Prashant Bhushan for his comments on Kashmir. He had called the incident "Operation Prashant Bhushan."

He disrupted a launch event of author-activist Arundhati Roy’s book at the India Habitat Centre.

"Old Memories with Arundhati Roy, when she was Barking on Kashmir," Bagga later tweeted.

The BJP's Delhi spokesperson is known for running smear campaigns against those with opposing views.
