COVID-19: No ATM withdrawal charges, declares FM Sitharaman

New Delhi : The Union government has lifted the charges of ATM withdrawal and for not keeping the minimum balance at bank account due to the coronavirus pandemic. Declaring these relief measures Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, on Tuesday said that the government has taken the decision to help the people in this grave situation. However, these reliefs will remain in place for only three months. “In order to help our people the Union government decided to waive off ATM withdrawal charges and the charges for not keeping a minimum balance for three months,” the Finance Minister said. She has also declared some other relief measures to the people of the country. Mentionable is that the novel coronavirus pandemic claimed the lives of 10 people in the country till today. A girl from Manipur has tested COVID-19 positive on Tuesday. This is the first coronavirus positive case reported from the North-eastern part of the country.
