Famous TV Star Karan Oberoi Arrested On Charges of Rape And Extortion

Television actor Karan Oberoi was arrested by Mumbai Police on Monday for allegedly raping and blackmailing a woman, police aforementioned. An FIR was registered at Oshiwara Police station in Mumbai under sections 376 (rape) and 384 (extortion) of the Indian penal code against Karan Oberoi.

According to the police, the actor allegedly raped the women on the pretext of marrying her.

“Oberoi not solely raped the women and recorded the act but additionally demanded money from the victim threatening to release the video filmed by him if she didn't pay up,” Mumbai Police aforementioned quoting the FIR.

The suspect actor has worked in television series like ‘Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin’, ‘Inside Edge’ among others. He additionally appeared in advertising campaigns of FBB, Royal Enfield Riding attire, Aldo, Jack & Jones, and Lamborghini.

Oberoi started his journey on television with Mahesh Bhatt's Swabhimaan, where he played Bobby. He was also a member of A Band of Boys, which was formed in 2001.
