HDFC Bank launches training programme to hire 5,000 banking professionals

Good news for the job seekers in the banking sector as private sector lender HDFC Bank is to hire around 5,000 professionals in the next 2-3 years. As announced by HDFC bank in its future bankers' training programme that it has launched along with Manipal Global Academy of BFSI. The private sector bank has opted for this tie-up with the academy in keeping with the growing needs for skill in the upcoming employees of the digital era.

As quoted by a bank spokesperson to the media, "Digitalisation is changing the skill requirements and for personal banking, we require candidates who are ready to interact with customers. Over a period of time, all our fresher hiring will be through such tie-ups."

The Future Bankers Program will thus be able to churn out potential skills out of the candidates coming to the academy for training and this will ease the banking sector as well in hiring the fitting persons in their respective positions.

The main objective behind providing training to candidates in Future Bankers Program is to create qualified young executives who will be able to deliver apt services to its customers and will turn into future industry leaders.

The bright opportunities provided by the HDFC bank to the budding bankers is commendable as young aspirants from across the country can take advantage of this training program. The training programme for the upcoming batch that will comprise of Classroom Training + on the job Internship is expected to start by September. The duration of the course will be one year costing Rs 3 lakh (plus taxes). The course, once completed, guarantees that the trainees will be placed in HDFC Bank at a starting salary of Rs 4 lakh per annum plus allowances. However, the salary may slightly vary depending on the category of town/city the candidate is posted.

However, before giving admission into the training programme, a candidate will be interviewed by the bank. Of the One year course, six months will be classroom training and the remaining six months will be an internship at the bank.

For being eligible to apply, an aspirant must have a degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized by Central Government with 55% or above graduation percentage. The age group of the aspirant should be between 21-26 years.
