IAF aircraft at Aligarh Muslim University listed on OLX for Rs. 9 crore, Uni says its "fake"

Guwahati: An Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft, installed on the campus of Aligarh Muslim University( AMU) was shown with a price tag of over Rs 9 crore on OLX on Monday, August 3.

Soon after the news started going viral, however, the university authorities have elucidated that the post on the website is false and it is posted to defame the institution mainly.

"The post on OLX about the sale of aircraft installed on the campus is wrong. University has not taken any step to auction or sell it. We are looking into the matter. It's an attempt to defame the university," said Mohd Wasim Ali, AMU Proctor.

The aircraft, that was listed on OLX for the sale of Rs 999,99,999 on August 3, was installed at the university in 2009 as a symbol of the Indian Air Force ( IAF).

As soon as the information about the post started to spread on social media, the post was taken down from OLX.
