No need to queue outside liquor shops, Delhi Govt issues 4.75 lakh e-tokens

In order to tackle the economic slump brought about by the prolonged nationwide lockdown, imposed to check the spread of new coronavirus pandemic, the Delhi Government like its counterpart in Assam has tried to increase the sale of liquor. But the Arvind Kejriwal-led government has, reportedly, given utmost importance on maintaining of social distancing norm by all people as it is considered as a powerful weapon in the fight against the deadly virus. As a part of its precautionary measures, the government has issued 4.74 lakh E-tokens for buying liquor. "It will help reduce queues in front of liquor shops. Under the e-token system, customers are given a specific time for purchasing alcohol so that there is no violation of social distancing norms by people queuing up outside liquor stores," said an official. The official informed that the Delhi government has allowed around 200 liquor shops to operate in the city.

To avail, the opportunity one will have to apply through a web link www.qtoken.in where he/she is allotted specific time for purchasing liquor after he/she files personal details.
