On the eve of Teachers' Day in India, the National Teachers Awards are conferred to the laudable teachers by the President of India. This prestigious awards are bestowed upon to those praiseworthy teachers working in primary schools, middle schools, and secondary schools.

Although majority of the countries celebrate "International Teachers Day" on October 5, there are few countries who celebrate this occasion on other days. For instance, this special day in the United States is celebrated on the first Tuesday of May whereas in China, September 10 is marked as Teachers Day.
