10 arrested for selling country liquor

DHUBRI, Oct 25: Ten persons involved in selling country liquor were arrested with 370 litres liquor by the staff of the Dhubri Superintendent of Excise Department in the last three days. The excise department conducted raids in Dhubri and Alomganj areas in the district. The department also seized 10 bottles of beer from the areas. Charges have been framed in the FIR against each of the 10 persons as country liquor was seized from all of them, an official informed.  Raids were conducted to check spurious country liquor being sold clandestinely in the district and excise department swung into action after the instruction issued by State PWD and Excise Minister, Parimal Suklya Baidya during his recent visit to Dhubri.
