10 bank accounts allegedly hacked by phishers

PATHSALA, March 25: The State Bank of India, Pathsala branch in Barpeta district seems to be compromising the accounts of its customers. As per sources, at least 10 customers of the Pathsala branch have allegedly reported unknown transactions in the month of March, 2017. The latest victim is Gita Devi, a teacher by profession. Devi was shocked when she received message alert in her cell phone regarding purchase of goods on Flipkart, an online shopping site. On approaching the branch, she learnt that Rs. 35,000 had been debited from her account without her knowledge. Based on the FIR of the victim, police have registered a case and are investigating the matter, said Partha Pratim Biswas, IC of Pathsala outpost.
