GAURISAGAR: Titikshya Nath, daughter of Hemanta Nath, a resident of Charing Soontalichiga village on the outskirts of Gaurisagar in Sivasagar district and a subject teacher in Gaurisagar Higher Secondary and Industrial Institute, and Dipika Nath, brought laurels to her native village as well as the district by obtaining 10th rank in the HS (Science) examination, 2019 from Salt Brook Academy, Dibrugarh.
People from various walks of life gathered at her residence to congratulate her as soon as the results were out on Saturday. In her residence, AASU Hatighuli Regional Unit, Barnil Sanskritic Gosthi, Soontalichiga, socio-cultural organization Khuj Bhetirpora Adharsilaloi, AASU Charing regional unit, Junaki Silpi Samaj, Tai Ahom Chatra Santha and many organizations and individuals felicitated the bright student. Later, a procession was taken out from the house of Titikshya throughout the greater Charing area where a good number of people took part. During the procession, well-wishers felicitated her with phulam gamosa, garland and bouquet.
Titikshya got total 468 marks and secured 93.6 per cent. Her brother Pringal Praitush Nath had secured 2nd position in HSLC and 10th position in the HS (Science) examination from Salt Brook Academy. She aims to become a biological scientist. She will now take admission in a college under Delhi University to study Biological Science.
