14 model schools opened, Gogoi says more such schools to come up

GUWAHATI, January 5: As many as 14 model schools were iugurated in remote and economically backward areas of Assam today. The schools were set up by the State Education Department under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), a Central Government scheme.

Iugurating such a school at a function centrally organized at Saharia Kismat village near Batadrava in gaon district today, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said: “fourteen such schools have  set up at remote and economically backward areas so as to let poor students getting educatiol facilities. This apart, such model schools will help throw the light of education in backward areas and develop them. More such model schools will be set up in 81 development blocks in the state.”

The other 13 model schools were set up at Chenga, Mandia, Poka Betbari, Rupsi, Barpeta, Matia, South Hailakandi, Samaria, Ambri, Lowaipowa, Moirabari, West Abohypur and Borkhetri.

Gogoi was accompanied by Education Minister Pradyut Bordoloi, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Rakibul Hussain, MP Gaurav Gogoi, Parliamentary Secretary for Education Rekibuddin Ahmed, Batadrava MLA Gautam Bora, gaon MLA Durlab Chamua  and a number of top officials of the Education Department.
