142 Bn Central Reserve Police Force Observes its 79th Raising Day at Golaghat,Assam

GOLAGHAT, July 29: The 142 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) of Junakinagar Unit observed the 79th Raising Day in a befitting manner at its headquarter premises on Friday. On the auspicious occasion, Om Prakash, Commandant of 142 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), paid homage to the martyrs of the unit and distributed sweets among the unit personnel. The commandant said that CRPF was raised on July 27, 1939 as Crown Representative Police and further in 1949 the force was renamed as Central Reserve Police Force. At present CRPF has 246 battalions and has become the largest paramilitary force in the world.
