15-year old gang raped at Kaki in Hojai district, five held

NAGAON: Sensation prevailed at Kaki in Hojai district after a 15-year old girl was allegedly gang raped at Kaki Khring Khring village under Kaki police station on Friday night when she went to a Bihu Mela held nearby.

According to sources, in connection with the gruesome incident Hojai Police apprehended five accused persons on Sunday after the victim lodged FIR in Kaki police station on Saturday.

The accused persons have been identified as Kanai Mozumdar, Rupan Rai, Ruhit Kisku, Samit Madrik and Rantu Das. The sources said that the nabbed persons had confessed to the crime and also admitted that total six persons had raped the girl. Police have launched search operation for the sixth accused.
