18 die in Manipur road accidents

Imphal, March 27: At least 18 persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Manipur on Monday.

According to police, over 40 persons were admitted to hospitals.

At least 10 persons were killed and dozens injured in Sepati district when a bus fell into a gorge along tiol Highway 2.

Hospital sources said the death toll could rise as many of the injured were in critical condition.

In another accident, eight persons were killed and six injured when a bus plunged into a 300 metre deep gorge in Khongkhang. (IANS)
