2 killed in road mishap

SHILLONG, May 10: In a tragic accident, two persons died on the spot when a GVK-EMRI Ambulance (ML01-5803) fell off a gorge near Lad Mawreng while on duty on Wednesday evening. Both the driver and paramedic lost their lives in the tragic accident. Speaking to The Sentinel over phone, SP City Vivek Syiem informed that the ambulance was on route from Shillong to Mairang, West Khasi Hills district when the tragic accident occurred at around 3 PM. The victim has been identified as Teiborlang Lyngdoh, resident of Mawlai Mawroh and the other identified person was Kyrshan Marwein, resident of Mawkyrwat. Syiem said the cause for the accident is yet to be ascertained by the police.
