20 AASU activists join Chutia Students’ Union

GOLAGHAT (Dhekial), Jan 7: More than 20 AASU activists joined the Chutia Students’ Union in Golaghat on Saturday.

In a press release, president and secretary of the Golaghat district Chutia Students’ Union, Mohen Bora and Ritu Saikia respectively, said that Golaghat Regiol Students’ Union fince secretary Himangshu Saikia, office secretary Bitupon Gogoi, organizing secretary Kiran Bora along with 20 members of AASU join the Chutia Students’ Union officially in the open session of annual convention of Golaghat district Chutia Students’ Union held at Ratdhaj Paul Khetra, Golaghat. They also said that ‘Deokuber Xalita Loguwa Xakam’ was also organized along with Golaghat District Chutia Students’ Union annual convention. The day-long programme started with flag hosting by Dimbeswar Saikia, president of reception committee and smriti tarpan by general secretary of Chutia Students’ Union, Ritu Saikia. The cultural procession was iugurated by Ramesh Hazarika, secretary of Chutia Jati Sanmilan, Assam. Relating to the annual convention of the organization, various competitions were held among the students. Later, a new body of Golaghat Regiol Chutia Students’ Union was formed with Himangsu Saikia as president, Prab Bora as working president, Bitupan Gogoi as general secretary and Kiran Bora as subdivision representative. A souvenir Sadhani was released by Bipul Chutia, general secretary, All Assam Chutia Students’ Union.
