200 supporters of Congress and HSDC join BJP in Bokajan

Bokajan, January 30: With Prime Minister rendra Modi officially kick-starting the saffron party’s poll campaign in Assam ahead of the assembly election, Karbi Anglong BJP has intensified its campaigning strategies around the district with around 200 supporters of Congress and HSDC joining BJP at a party meeting on Friday. A mass joining programme and BJP workers’ meet was organized at the Hidipi sports playground under 17 - Bokajan LA Constituency. Many prominent BJP functiories including State secretary Dr Rajdeep Roy, Arun Terang, president, BJP West Karbi Anglong, Lonki Phangcho, president, BJP East Karbi Anglong, Ranjit Dey, secretary, BJP Karbi Anglong among others were present to grace the occasion. BJP Borjan LA Constituency president Rajen Kathar presided over the meeting and welcomed the new entrants to work for the interest of the party. He also said that the move would further strengthen the democratic base of the party in the region ahead of the State assembly elections. Replaying the slogan of ‘Congress-free Assam’, West Karbi Anglong BJP president Arun Terang launched a scathing attack on the ruling Congress MLA 17 Bokajan LA constituency Klengdun Ingti by saying, “The young MLA is always busy playing his guitar to the tune of western music whenever his people go to brief him about their problems. He also diverts everything towards his MP father Biren Sing Ingti and is indifferent towards the people of his constituency.”
