2018 Asian Games to Kick Off with A Bang: The Complete Schedule of The Games

The opening ceremony of the 18th edition of the Asian Games will take place on 18th August at 5:30 PM IST in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Ceremony will be hosted in the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta. Being the biggest of all the games held in the Asian region, the Asiad have lately been in news due to the spectacular arrangements the Indonesian capital city is up to.

The eighteenth Asian Games will officially begin from August 19th 2018.

The Inaugural ceremony is scheduled with the singing performances of renowned Indonesian singers, namely, Anggun, Raisa, Tulus, Edo Kondologit, Putri Ayu, Fatin, GAC, Kamasean and Via Vallen. To make the singing performances look more extravagant to the eyes, the organizers have built the ceremony stage as 120-metre long, 30-metre wide and 26-metre high. A towering mountain is placed at its background, accompanied by plants and flowers which are the unique features of Indonesia.

The India team will be led by Commonwealth Games gold medalist Neeraj Chopra as he will be holding India's flag in the opening ceremony.

Team India comprises of 804 members including 572 athletes. In total, there will be around 10,000 athletes from 45 countries compete contending in 58 games of the event.
