ITANAGAR: Spearheading the surprise checking of Inner Line Permit (ILP) violators, 26 persons without ILP were arrested at Kankar Nallah under the active guidance of Inspector Nikom Riba on Saturday. “All such violators were pushed back through the gates from where they infiltrated into Inner Line violating Sec 3 BEFR, 1873,” informed the EAC Naharlagun Hento Karga. The EAC further informed that in recent times, when inner line checking has been intensified and more attention are given to restrict movement of people without ILP, the violators changed their modus operandi of making illegal entry into Inner Line by using vehicles moving during the night.

Therefore, the District Administration Capital Complex has directed the OC PS Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa to conduct regular surprise checking at night.

DC Prince Dhawan has time and again stressed that District Administration has zero tolerance against such violators and appealed people to refrain from such illegal activities.
