30-bedded Kheroni Model Hospital inaugurated

Donkamukam, June 3: “Along with change in other sectors, change in health sector is topmost in our State and soon 37 model hospitals will be inaugurated in different parts of the State,” said Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Pijush Hazarika at the Vikas Utsav meeting at Kheroni Ampathar after inauguration of the 30-bedded Kheroni Model Hospital in presence of KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang, local MLA Dr Mansing Rongpi and a galaxy of EMs and MACs of KAAC and medical officers in Kheroni West Karbi Anglong. “Doctors are meant to serve people with dedication and they should not hesitate to serve here in West Karbi Anglong stating backwardness of the region. This excuse will not be tolerated,” said Hazarika.

He also highlighted various developmental activities taken up during the past two years under Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s leadership. The minister in his speech also slammed Congress MP of No. 3 Diphu (ST) Constituency, Birensing Engti for not taking up any development projects in the area. KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang in his speech acknowledged getting Rs 94.11 crore as special package for KAAC from the Centre and another special package of Rs 50 crore from the Assam government last year with which the sports complex at Diphu and at Donkamukam were built. “Diphu Stadium was completed within 15 months and inaugurated last month by minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and soon the Donkamukam Sports Complex will be inaugurated,” said the CEM. “Also in each of the 26 MAC constituencies under Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Rs 10 crore per constituency will be given next to construct an indoor stadium,” he added.
