30 gms heroin seized, one arrested in Silchar

Silchar: SDPO Lakhipur Anurag Sharma along with in-charge Sonai police station Nirupam Nath recently arrested Binoy Prasad Das (27) from his residence at Kalapool near Binnakandi tea and recovered 30 gms drug (heroin), one vehicle bearing no. AS 11 Q 0911. The raid was conducted by Anurag Sharma and Nirupam Nath.

Binoy Prasad Das was also produced before the sub divisional magistrate court, Lakhipur. Lakhipur police station officer in-charge Inspector Anwar Hussain Choudhury and investigation officer Prafulla Pegu took up the case and also a case under the NDPS Act was registered against Binoy Prasad Das. They have assumed that the cost of the seized heroin costs around Rs.60,000. After keeping him in remand for five days, he was sent to Silchar Central Jail.
