4-day gala event of music band Dolchhut begins

Silchar, June 23: Dolchhut, a renowned Silchar based music band, began its 4 day gala event with a bang through a singing event titled ‘Songs face to face’ at Silchar Goldighi Mall at around 7pm on Thursday. Dolchhut has always been trying to create and provide platform for young talents. With this motive in mind, the event comprised songs rendered by youngsters. The ambience of the dazzling, brilliant and illuminated Mall was filled with some soulful songs and foot tapping numbers. Dolchhut has been observing World Music Day which falls on June 21, since its formation. ‘Face to face singing’ set the tone for the whole event which also concluded on a high note.

In addition to this, the music band released a video titled ‘Balloonwala’ as a tribute to Lakshmi Nath, a renowned and popular Barak Valley based balloonwala (balloon seller) who used to sell balloons by singings songs. The brilliant direction, cinematography and editing of the video which is approximately of 6 minutes, has been done by Arindam Goala of Mix and Match Productions. The lyrics and music of the song have been composed by journalist and artiste Biswaraj Bhattacharjee. Dolchhut on Friday evening will felicitated former MLA Dipak Bhattacharjee, late Juwel Choudhury along with various bands and musical troupes, Rupam, Somokal, Sworolipi, Ganasur, Disari, IPTA, Silchar committee, Jajabor and Udharbond’s artistes at Madhyoshohor Sanskriti Samiti Hall.
