40 cases of JE in Golaghat

Golaghat, August 9:  A Japanese Encephalitis (JE) case has been detected in Golaghat. According to reports, Jitendra Gogoi from Khumtai in Golaghat has been found to be JE positive and is now undergoing treatment at Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital in Golaghat. According to the Superintendent of the Civil Hospital, Jitendra Gogoi was admitted in the hospital a few days back. Seeing symptoms of JE he was referred to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital for better treatment. There he was detected to be suffering from Japanese Encephalitis and treatment was provided. After some days when his health improved, he was discharged from JMCH. Suddenly on Monday,  Jitendra Gogoi again fell ill and the family members admitted him in the Civil Hospital. The Hospital Superintendent also added that till date about 40 people in Golaghat district had been found to be JE positive but there was no reason to be worried as treatment had been provided to them. Also, district health department has taken initiative to create awareness among the people.
