48-year-old hippopotamus dies in Guwahati Zoo

GUWAHATI: Upsetting thousands of visitors, Raja – the 48-year-old hippopotamus breathed its last in Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, Guwahati on Saturday night due to old-age ailments. The hippopotamus was brought to the Assam Zoo from the USA in 1974 at the age of four.
