49 monks take ordition at Digboi Buddha Vihar

Margherita, April 3:  As many as 49 monks have taken ordition at Digboi Buddha Vihar premises here recently. The monks, who took ordition here, are haling from Margherita and Digboi areas. Many renowned Buddhist monks such as Dr. Dharmviriya Mahathero of New Delhi, Dr. Barasambodhi Mahathero of Gaya Buddha Vihar, mi Sumin of South Korea, Silarakhit Bhikkhu of Sikkim, Dhamma nda Mahathero of Kolkata, Dipankar Thero of Digboi Buddha Vihar, Gautam Shrami and Upachala Shrami took part in the ordition programme. General Secretary of Federation of Baruah Buddists’ Welfare Association of Assam (FBBWAA) Shibu Talukdar told this correspondent that minority certificate should be given to Barua Buddhist community people and both the central and state government should take the matter seriously.
