5 year old dies in jumbo attack

Tamulpur, Aug 21: A girl was killed by a wild elephant on Sunday night at No. 3 Dongargaon under Tamulpur Forest Range in the district of Baksa. In search of food, a herd of wild elephants has been taking shelter along  the bank of the river Barnodi and in the premises of grijuli Tea Garden. The herd entered the village No. 3 Dongargaon and attacked the house of Jogesh Barman. The family members of Jogeswar Barman maged to escape but his 5-year old daughter Rupa Barman was attacked by a wild elephant and she died. In-charge of grijuli police outpost, Nikhil Singh arrived on the spot and recovered the body of Rupa Barman and arranged for postmortem.
