50 Kendriya Vidyalaya Girl Students visit China border in Arunachal

GUWAHATI: A group of 50 girls belonging to 50 Kendriya Vidyalaya of five regions of the north-eastern states visited Tawang and forward areas as part of their three-day visit to border areas of Arunachal Pradesh.

According to PIB release, the students were exposed to the challenging service condition in the forward areas with an aim to enhance awareness amongst the young minds about Indian Army and give them exposure of the harsh terrain and weather conditions along the sensitive Line of Actual Control (LAC) along with China in Tawang.

Students were taken to Bumla located at an altitude of 15000 ft and Tawang War Memorial where they paid homage to the martyrs of 1962 war. A weapon and equipment display, including Artillery guns, was also organized for the students where Brig Zubin Bhatnagar, the Commander of the Tawang Garrison, interacted and motivated the young girls to join the Indian Armed Forces as officers.

The excitement was glaring on the face of the young girls who were completely overwhelmed to see the Army operating at such an altitude in close coordination with the civil administration, the release said.
