500 BJP members of Manipur gaon panchayat quit party

MORIGAON: Altogether 500 members of BJP of Manipur gaon panchayat under Bhurbandha Block quit the party on Wednesday ahead of the panchayat election, expressing dissatisfaction at the MLA’s alleged step-motherly attitude. The local MLA had alleged projected candidates of his party Tiwa Jatiya Eaikya Mancha instead of the BJP in the gaon panchayat. The BJP members decided to project candidates as independent from 10 wards of the gaon panchayat. The members alleged that such anti-BJP attitude of the MLA might lead the party towards ruin.
