6 injured as DPS school bus hits road divider near Jalukbari in Guwahati

Guwahati: Around 15 students along with a driver and teacher met with an accident in Guwahati’s Jalukbari area today.

As per police report, the students in the school bus bearing registration number AS 01JC 7378 was carrying students of Delhi Public School (DPS) in Guwahati.

Speaking to The Sentinel Digital, Traffic Police Jalukbari, Bishwajit Kalita said that the school bus met with an accident after the driver lost its control and rammed into a road divider. The bus then crashed into a tree injuring at least 4 school students, driver and a teacher on the spot.

The traffic police also informed that there were no major injuries reported, however, all the injured students along with the driver and teacher were rushed to Excelcare Hospital at Boragaon at National Highway 37.

Police further informed that the bus was heading towards to Gorchuk area from Jalukbari in Guwahati.
