60-year-old man murdered, grandsons injured

NUMALIGARH, January 11: Sensation prevailed after two unknown miscreants entered Birsha Manjhi’s house at Jackson Sidheswari under Numaligarh police outpost in Golaghat district on Sunday night and allegedly killed Manjhi (60) who was asleep. The miscreants allegedly attacked Manjhi with sharp weapons. He died on the spot. They also attacked his four grandsons - Suresh Rajuwar, Debaru Manjhi, Thebu Manjhi and Bishal Manjhi. They were sent to hospital for treatment. After the attack, the miscreants fled away. The miscreants did not take anything with them. A team of Numaligarh police reached the spot and are investigating the matter. The cause of murder has not been known yet. The police sent the body for postmortem to Golaghat.
