7 month old pregnant woman beaten to death by husband in Baksa

Tamulpur: A man allegedly thrashed his wife to death on Holi night at Darangamela area in Baksa District near Indo-Bhutan Border.

As per reports, the 7 months pregnant woman was badly beaten by accused husband Sitaram Hasda (28) with an iron rod at around 6 pm in the evening hours leading to her death.

As per local people, both the accused husband and his wife were living separately since the last couple of months. However, the exact reason for the clash has not been ascertained yet by the Darangamela Police.

Following the incident, the accused husband had escaped from the spot. A case has also been registered against the alleged accused Sitaram Hasda in connection to the incident at Darangamela Police Station.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased lady has been sent for post mortem.
