80 youths get skill development degrees from DBST Institute

TEZPUR, April 29: With the motto “skilling youth transforming lives” Don Bosco Socio Technical Institute (DBSTI) made history for itself. After three months intense training on computer, spoken English and primary teachers’ training, 80 youths from Sonitpur, Lakimpur, gaon and Udalguri districts graduated today, which was formally declared in a function held in the campus of the Socio Technical Institute.

The institute established in 2015 at Dekargaon-Mission Chariali here with a mission to provide yeoman’s service to the society through various needful social activities has been imparting training to the youths of the locality and the neighboring districts in various skills.

The Director of the Institute, Fr. Cletus mentioned in his speech that more than 1000 youths have been benefited from the institute through various skill building training programmes during the last one year.

President of the Army Wives Association (AWA) Gowri Anbu graced the occasion as chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion she appreciated the work done by the Director and the staff of the institute. Distributing the certificates to the passing out trainees she also highlighted that Don Bosco Socio Technical Institute that stands in the locality as a beacon of hope for the youth of North east India.

Meanwhile, one of the passing out trainees, Seema Mishra sharing her experience said that it was a life time experience of being in Don Bosco Socio Technical Institute.

“We are now well equipped to handle the primary students in a better way,” she said.

Many of the computer students have already been absorbed in different posts in various companies including as accountants.

In the event different traditiol dances like Bihu dance, Aruchali dance, Boro and Garo dance were showcased.

The Institute has been stimulating in offering short term certificate courses in various skill training such as Para Nursing, Hospitality, Sales and Marketing, and Tourism development, Persolity Development and Teachers’ Effectiveness Training Programme. One of the graduating youths Jyoti Das expressed Don Bosco Socio Technical Institute is a blessing for the people of North-East.
