A noble deed: 1,000 saplings planted to create pollution-free society

DULIAJAN, June 12:  Nobin Baruah, son of Lokth Baruah  and a resident of Ushapur Khanikor Gaon, and an employee in Production (Oil),OIL Duliajan, has been planting various kinds of saplings in the districts of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia since 1996, before he joined OIL.

Baruah said that he till date he had planted above 73,000 different kinds of saplings in schools, colleges, amghars, xatras, hospitals and others places in the districts of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia with his own money.  Aiming to creating a pollution-free society  in both the districts, Baruah also  offered services by maintaining the saplings which were already planted and offered flower tubs  and manure to various institutions, schools ,colleges, amghars, xatras, hospitals and other places.

This year on World Environment Day, Baruah, under the banner Basudha, planted 1,000 saplings. He planted 150 saplings in Tipam Danngori Than LP School and distributed many saplings to local people for creating a pollution-free society in the areas. He also distributed 250 saplings  to the authorities of Bhadoi Model School, Bhadoi High School and Green Birds Progressive High School, planted 600 saplings near Rongagorah Road, harkatia PS, Joypur PS, Duliajan PS, Bhadoi outpost and various other places.
