AABHA all praise for Sushma

Silchar, July 21: All Assam Bengali Hindu Association (AABHA), Silchar, has expressed their gratefulness and thankfulness towards external Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for her call for the passage of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. They addressed a letter to her on Friday appreciating her speech which she delivered at the Rajya Sabha session on July 19. The organization has been supporting the Bill which ensures citizenship by naturalization for Hindu Bengalis along with other religious minority communities of Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan residing in Assam and other states of the country who were forced to leave their homeland due to religious persecution or fear of religious on or before December 31, 2014.

They are the victims of Partition. AABHA has been organizing mass signature campaign in support of the Bill by reaching to the people who are in favour of the Bill. They gladly informed Sushma Swaraj that they are receiving huge response throughout the state and lakhs of Hindu Bengalis are endorsing their support through their precious signatures. AABHA has urged upon the External Affairs Minister to take bold steps in this matter so that Hindus are benefitted. The letter has been signed by Santanu Sutradhar, general secretary, and Basudeb Sharma, president, of AABHA.
