AAGSU flays new Nepali organization

DULIAJAN, June 15: The only non-political organization representing people of ethnic Nepali communities in Assam is All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU), said the four regiol committees of AAGSU - Duliajan regiol committee of AAGSU, Tingri regiol committee of AAGSU, harkatia Anchalik committee of AAGSU and Tengakhat regiol committee of AAGSU. These four regiol committees have sharply reacted against the alleged formation of another Nepali students’ organization med All Assam Goorkha Students’ Organization in Duliajan and also alleged that the new organization had been formed just before the assembly elections for extortion of money from general Nepali community people. This was stated in a joint press communiqué on Wednesday by Duliajan AAGSU president Rat Thapa and general secretary Ramesh Chetry,Tingri AAGSU president Jeevan Chetry and general secretary Damudar Sarmah, harkatia AAGSU president Uttom Pradhan and general secretary Pushkar Sarma and Tengakhat AAGSU president Hemanta Sarmah and general secretary Prabin Chetry.
