AAJU appeals for financial aid for Balen Borah's family

NAGAON, April 18: The district unit of All Assam Journalists’ Union (AAJU), led by district president and secretary Hareswar Borah, Nilutpal Borah and publicity secretary Chandanjyoti Borah, on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Nagaon and demanded immediate financial help for the family of renowned journalist of the district, Bolen Borah, who passed away recently.

 Soon after Borah’s demise, his wife was compelled to open a chat stall on the footpath in Nagaon town for survival. According to the district unit, at the Bihu cultural function held at Nehrubali field in Nagaon town on Tuesday afternoon, organized by Xadou Nagaon Rangali Bihu Udjapan Samiti, the district body in presence of the State president of AAJU, Pankaj Kr Nath took the decision and at the same function the district unit also appealed to the Nagaon DC to provide financial aid to the family. The Bihu committee on Tuesday afternoon felicitated the State president of AAJU, Pankaj Kr Nath with gamosa and seleng chadar along with Superintendent of Police Sankarbrata Raimedhi, Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu and 20 other dignitaries of the district.
