Itanagar, June 29: The All Arunachal Pradesh Earthmovers Welfare Association (AAPEMWA) has demanded immediate ban on illegal earth-cutting activities in the capital complex and adjoining areas. In a representation to the capital complex deputy commissioner, the association lamented that the administration’s order banning earth-cutting is not being followed, and that such activities are underway in several parts of the capital.

Illegal earth-cutting work during the monsoon season is detrimental and has the potential to cause massive landslides leading to loss of life and property, AAPEMWA president Likha Ekha stated in the representation.

Seeking strict check on all kinds of earth-cutting activities during the monsoon season, the association requested the administration to initiate legal action against defaulters.
