ITANAGAR: Post receiving various complaints from aspirants across the state on the recently declared results of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Exams (Prelims), the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has called for initiating appropriate action for re-evaluation of Series ‘C’ in Geography optional paper after verifying the answer keys fed in the OMR (Optical Mark Reader) machine.

The union also demanded to allot grace marks for all the wrong questions within 10 days and added that no new notification related to same exam be released until the said issue is resolved.

In a representation submitted to Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) Chairman, AAPSU said that they have received complaint regarding the anomaly in official answer keys of Geography Optional Series ‘C’ of APPSCCE prelims 2017-18 and requested him for re-evaluation of the same after proper correction/verification of answers keys fed in OMR machine. “It is said that out of more than 130 qualified candidates in Geography optional paper so far, no one has been from the Series ‘C’.

This situation has raised doubt over some technical error in feeding the answer keys in the OMR machine. Moreover, the aspirants have also informed the Union about other issues of error in questions, which need to be redressed for grace marks,” read the representation.

The complaint about such errors being repeatedly made in such prestigious exams raises questions on competency of the Commission, the State’s apex students’ body said and urged his good office to look into the matter seriously and initiate appropriate action for the re-evaluation of Series ‘C’ in Geography Optional paper.
