Itanagar, May 13: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has welcomed the State Cabinet’s decision of approving the enhancement of upper age limit for appearing in competitive examinations from 30 to 32 year, with five years relaxation for the Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribes (APSTs).

It also welcomed decisions like the creation of 7 posts for various categories to strengthen the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, the initiatives for early realization of greenfield airport at Hollongi and amendments for increasing compensation amount for rape victims as suggested by the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS).

The AAPSU stated that it had called on the Chief Minister on December 17, 2017 to enhance the entry age for APST and implementation of FR 56 (J) in the policy.

While the union appreciated the Chief Minister for increasing the age limit, its president Hawa Bagang said the union demands implementation of FR 56 (J) to be included as well.
