AASAA submits memorandum

MARGHERITA, May 17: The All Adivasi Students’ Association of Assam (AASAA) Tinsukia District Committee on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the President of India through the Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia. Ramanus Lakra, general secretary of AASAA Tinsukia District Committee, said, “Today we submitted a memorandum where our demand is to implement of Plantation Labour Act 1951, to fully implement the Right to Education (RTE) in the tea gardens of Assam, proper education for tea garden children of Assam, Rs 330 should be given as daily wage to tea garden labours of Assam and all tea workers of Assam should be covered under the PDS directly with ration card.”
