AASU and AJYCP activists block NH-37 at Jhanji-Hanchara of Simaluguri

GAURISAGAR, Aug 3: All Assam Students' Union (AASU)unit of Simaluguri Mouza of Jorhat district in association with the activists of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), Jhanji Regional committee blocked NH-37 at Jhanji Hanhchara on Thursday, demanding immediate repair of Lalit Chandra Rajkhowa road and Jogduar-Bonai connecting Chintamonigarh road.

The anguished activists blocked the NH-37 for half an hour. Notably two years ago sanction was granted for repair of the road but the contractor has done nothing as alleged.

Later, in the presence of Mousumi Barman, Circle Officer, Teok Revenue Circle, protesters withdrew the blockade after obtaining assurance from the administration that the repair work will be taken up under the supervision of a junior engineer.
