AASU demands repair of dilapidated road
From a Correspondent
DEMOW, May 5: The busy Nitai Barbarua Road which connects Demow and Nitaiphukhuri is in a pathetic and dilapidated condition since a long time. There are many potholes in the road due to which accidents take place. There is also no speed breaker in front of the Demow Model Hospital due to which people face problems. Under the leadership of Dipankar Pratim Chetia, president, and Humen Gogoi, general secretary of Demow Regiol Students’ Union, a memorandum was submitted to the Assistant Executive Engineer, Public work Department (PWD) Demow Rural Road Subdivision on Thursday where they demanded that by May 15 the dilapidated road should be repaired and two speed-breakers should be made in front of Demow Model Hospital. The Demow Regiol Students’ Union said if these problems were not solved then they would launch a democratic protest programme.
