AASU opposes closure of NH-37

BOKAKHAT, November 20: Bokakhat AASU has opposed   the Central Government’s decision to close down the tiol Highway from Jakhalabondha to Bokakhat in the me of animal conservation in Kaziranga tiol Park.

AASU president Tapanjyoti Gogoi and secretary Ridip Bhushan th in a press release said that AASU with cooperation of various organizations had been opposing this decision of the government. AASU demanded that the status of the NH-37, which has been there since the reign of the Ahom kings, must be kept unchanged. In addition to this, the government should survey the animal corridors and construct flyovers there. They alleged that due to the weakness of the Assam Government, the Central Government had taken the unreasoble decision to close down the highway. If the decision of the government is not changed, the AASU with the cooperation of the public will take the path of agitation , they stated in the release.
