AASU submits memorandum seeking enquiry into NRC anomaly

MORIGAON, October 3: The activists of altogether 14 anchalik committees of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) under the aegis of Morigaon district committee, on Monday sent 14 memoranda separately to the Commissioner and Secretary, Government of Assam, as well as NRC State Coorditor, Prateek Hajela through the Deputy Commissioner,  demanding  an enquiry against Joydeep Barua for allegedly misappropriating Rs 40 lakh in the me of supply of petrol allotted for NRC update work in the district.

The presidents and secretaries of 14 anchalik committees - Bhuragaon, Mayong, Moha, Geruwa, Jagibhakatgaon, Jagiroad, Kapahera, Habibarangabari, Mikirbheta, Jaluguti, Laharighat, Barapujia , Kustoli and Katahaguri,  under the leadership of Bhaigya Bora, vice- president, Morigaon district and Jitumoni Pathak, assistant general secretary, Morigaon district, submitted the memoranda.
