AASU takes out torchlight rally

Gohpur, May 10: A massive torchlight rally protest was taken out against the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 by Gohpur AASU in collaboration with the people of Gohpur. The AASU activists questioned why the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) held hearing for two days in the Barak Valley and only one day-hearing in Guwahati? The AASU demanded that the JPC should hold hearing in every district of Assam and take opinion from every organization and ethnic tribe. 

“It will not be tolerated if someone tries to give unnecessary burden of illegal immigrants on Assam while the NRC update process is in progress,” said the AASU activists.
