From our Correspondent

UDALGURI, July 1: The Udalguri district committee ABSU staged a two hour sit-in in front of the District Mission Coorditor’s office in Udalguri on Wednesday and demanded the supply of Bodo language books for the library grant for lower primary and upper primary Bodo medium schools.

The student organization expressed dissatisfaction over the alleged apathy towards the Bodo medium schools by the government departments. The ABSU leaders said that the Bodo medium primary schools were given Assamese and Hindi language books which were of no use to the students at that stage.

A memorandum was also submitted by the Udalguri district committee ABSU to the State SSA Mission Director through the Udalguri district Mission Coorditor SN Goyari.  He assured the ABSU leaders that he would take up their issues with the State officials.

Dipen Boro, the adviser Udalguri district committee ABSU and Udalguri district ABSU president, Rinjoy Boro appealed to the SSA authority to discuss with the ABSU and Bodo Sahitya Sabha about this matter and to enlist Bodo language books to Bodo medium schools.
