Acclaimed writers, poets to attend Diphu Poetry Festival on March 20 and March 21

Diphu: Diphu Poetry Festival will be held on March 20 and March 21 at Arboretum and Craft Centre, Matipung, Diphu. The event will be organized by Jambili Literary Foundation (JLF) with support of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). The event will include multilingual poets’ meet, storytelling, poetry competition, women writers meet, interaction with nationally acclaimed writers, book release, workshop on poetry, interaction with top intellectuals and journalists, young Karbi writers’ meet, workshop on poetry, on-spot poem competition and open poem recitation session.

Also, eminent personalities of Karbi Anglong, including Padmashree awardee Prof. Rongbong Terang, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Assam University Diphu campus, Prof. Swasish Biswas, eminent writers like Sikari Tisso, Sar-et Hanse, Chitra Kr Bey, Sing Kro, Khorsing Ingti, Khoyasing Hanse, Deben Timung, CKS director Dharamsing Teron and other dignitaries will take part. Pradesh, Dr Jamuna Bini and Sahitya Akademi awardee Dr Homen Borgohain will attend the event as panelists. KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang will be the chief guest. Karbi Lammet Amei (KLA), Karbi Cultural Society (KCS) and other organizations will co-operate in holding the event, said JLF adviser Surjya Rongphar, JLF chairman Welng Hanse and other members at the press conference held at District Press Club Office on Wednesday.
