Adil Hussain Dedicates Norwegian Film Honour to Assam's Goalpara

Adil Hussain who is from Assam and started acting as a stand-up comedian has won the Scandinavian country’s top National Film honour for his film 'What Will People Say'.

Hussain is the first Indian to win the best actor at the Amanda Award or Norwegian National Awards. The actor dedicated it to his birthplace, Goalpara in Assam. Adil Hussain on Sunday took to Twitter and said that the award is for all those who believe that art can break boundaries.

“Grateful to have received the Amanda Awards Norwegia National Awards for Best Actor in a leading role for, brilliantly directed by Iram Haq. This award is for Goalpara, Assam, India for all those who believe that art can break all boundaries of all kinds,” Adil Hussain wrote.

The film 'What Will People Say' has also won the best film, best director, and best script award. The Norwegian film is on immigration and Adil Hussain has played the role of an adoring yet controlling father in the film. The film has already won the Kanon Award at Kosmorama film festival, which is Norway's equivalent of the Academy Awards.

While talking about his achievement, Adil Hussain said that no matter where are you from or what is your economic background, if one wants to fulfil their dreams, their passion, their love, then nobody can stop them.
