All East Kameng District Students’ Union (AEKDSU) to approach Supreme Court

ITANAGAR, July 12: Lamenting while handing over late Toko Yame’s case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the state government had deviated from other four point charter of demands, the All East Kameng District Students’ Union (AEKDSU) on Monday has announced to file a case at National Human Right Commission, Delhi.

AEKDSU in a press conference held at Arunachal Press Club (APC), informed that though the case has been transfer to CBI from SIT which is a welcome gesture but it is an ardent fact that rest of the four points is being neglected and denied by state government.

“Among five points charter of demand state government has fulfilled only one point, that is to hand over the case to CBI without proper communication to the family members,” lamented general secretary AEKDSU Nera Gumro.

AEKDSU also appealed the CBI team to investigate the case from day one of the incident but not based on the report made by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and it should be monitored by the High Court.

Alleging it was due to incompetent of police on PCR duty that in presence of them the heinous crime occurred, AEKDSU demand for suspension of all the police personnel on duty and to initiate departmental enquiry against the erring police personnel at the earliest.

Demanding for post mortem report to be made available, AEKDSU said despite the end of 15 days ultimatum served to the state government but till date concern authority failed to provide said report.

“After committed heinous crime on street suspected culprits are roaming freely which is threat to society, and victim’s family and AEKDSU fear if the case is not tempered with related evidence of case,” said Gumro while demanding for immediate re-arrest of all the suspected culprits.

Affirming their announcement is standstill to initiate economic blockade on Tawang district if the demand is not fulfill, AEKDSU appealed state government to come up front on the other four point charter of demands. If any untoward incident takes place in due course of democratic movement the state government shall be held sole responsible, union added.

The five points demands of AEKDSU were to immediate transfer of case to CBI from SIT, immediate re-arrest of all the suspected culprits, immediate suspension of all police on duty, post mortem report to be made available and investigation report of case to be made public or to victim’s family.

Since, late Toko Yame was murdered in Tawang on 16 September 2017 last, the AEKDSU with the support of various Unions, Organizations, Societies and well wishers has been launching series of democratic movement.
